She spent three years working at DCI, and two of those years she was a Volunteer Hospital Responder for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors with the Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC). During this time she felt a need to move beyond DCI and went to pursue a degree in graduate school in Perth, Western Australia (WA). In 2018, she spent a year in WA earning her Graduate Diploma in Sexology at Curtin University. Since 2019, she returned stateside and has been working at Cisco Systems, Inc. as an HR Representative for the US and Canada offboarding processes. |

Emily decided to attend East Carolina University due to its relatively low tuition cost, close proximity to home, and its great Music Program. Initially, Emily was intending on majoring in Music-Vocal Performance. After auditions with the music department at East Carolina University, Emily decided to drop Music and replace it with Communication. During the fall of Emily's sophomore year, she auditioned to become a member of the Magnolia Belles, an all female a cappella group sponsored by the East Carolina Alumni Association.
