Early Fraternity Life and Career
Eddie decided to attend Louisiana State University after being offered an Air Force ROTC scholarship and visiting the campus in Baton Rouge. He joined Phi Sigma Pi in the spring of 2004 as a member of Gamma Theta's Pi Class and was elected as the class Scholarship Chairman.
Collegiate Years at LSU
Eddie was Gamma Theta's Service Chairman his senior year ('05-'06). In August 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, and though LSU was only lightly damaged, the storm had a huge impact on Gamma Theta's service events. The service committee organized numerous events to help with relief and rebuilding efforts. Eddie was also heavily involved in Air Force ROTC and Arnold Air Society. Alumni Years to Present
Upon graduating in May 2006, Eddie commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and moved to his first assignment as an aircraft maintenance officer at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas. He attended Air & Space Basic Course in January, 2007, and was a Distinguished Graduate at the Aircraft Maintenance Officer's Course in July, 2007. In July 2007, he started dating his best friend and initiate classmate, Jessica Himel. They were married on July 18th, 2009, in Jessica's home church near New Orleans, Louisiana. Now a First Lieutenant in the Air Force, Eddie is currently deployed to Baghdad, Iraq. He will promote to Captain this August and is up for reassignment in the fall.
