1933 Grand Chapter Conference

In 1933 the fraternity decided to skip that year's Grand Chapter Conference. Instead they held two region conferences due to economic reasons. The Western Conclave/Conference was hosted at Delta Chapter in Pittsburg, Kansas and the Eastern Conclave/Conference met in Indiana, Pennsylvania.


Western Conclave/Conference

The split in the Grand Chapter locations is detailed in the 1933 Beta Chapter Annual Newsletter.

The Western Conference was hosted by Delta Chapter on March 3-4, 1933, in Pittsburg, Kansas. Representatives from four Chapters, three faculty sponsors, two regional directors, and two national officers were present.

Eastern Conclave/Conference

The 1933 Carontawan, Mansfield University's yearbook, mentions the Eastern Conclave taking place in Indiana, PA. At this meeting Brothers Are We is adopted by the Grand Chapter.

The Eastern Conference was hosted by the Eta Chapter on March 24-25, 1933, in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Representatives from seven Chapters, seven faculty sponsors, and two national officers were present. The delegated were served a banquet banquet by Eta Chapter in the college dining room on the evening of March 24. Henry Klonower, Director of the Teacher Bureau, Department of Public Instruction, Harrisburg, Pa., was the speaker at the banquet. President Charles R. Foster of the State Teachers College at Indiana served as toastmaster. National President Charles E. Manwiller presided during the conference.
