Alejandra Figueroa was born and raised in Mexico. Passionate about photography, she decided to make it her life and moved to Paris in 1992. Casting a new perspective on sculpture is her favourite theme, but she has also produced work featuring stained glass, paintings, textures and architecture.

The turning point in her career was her first exhibition at the Grand Louvre, Paris, in 1997. Further exhibitions followed, including one at the Musée d’Orsay in 1998, commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture, and another at the Vatican in 2001, where she showed a book of photographs featuring a sculptures from St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. She represented Mexico at Expo 2000 in Hannover, in the VIP hall, and in the same year she photographed the collection of the Museo Nacional del Virreinato in Tepozotlán, Mexico, and then took part in the prestigious exhibition « D’après l’Antique » at the Musée du Louvre.

Biography

Alejandra Figueroa was born and raised in Mexico. Passionate about photography, she decided to make it her life and moved to Paris in 1992. Casting a new perspective on sculpture is her favourite theme, but she has also produced work featuring stained glass, paintings, textures and architecture. The turning point in her career was her first exhibition at the Grand Louvre, Paris, in 1997. Further exhibitions followed, including one at the Musée d’Orsay in 1998, commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture, and another at the Vatican in 2001, where she showed a book of photographs featuring a sculptures from St Peter’s Basilica in Rome. She represented Mexico at Expo 2000 in Hannover, in the VIP hall, and in the same year she photographed the collection of the Museo Nacional del Virreinato in Tepozotlán, Mexico, and then took part in the prestigious exhibition « D’après l’Antique » at the Musée du Louvre.
