Early Fraternity Life and Career
Alyssa began attending Lehigh University in the Fall 2008.  Though she did hear about Phi Sigma Pi in the spring, she did not rush thinking that any type of greek life would not be for her.  Towards the end of that same semester, a brother talked to her more in depth about all that PSP was about.  Since she had not found any clubs or organizations that she felt she really belonged to, she became determined to give it a try in the fall.

In the Fall 2009, after attending an info session and rush events, Alyssa fell in love with the organization and was very excited to join.  She became one of six initiates to be inducted as brothers for the Rho class.  Memorable moments from initiation were her friend getting her into the hallway where she got a full surprise silly string attack by the bid delivery group, writing her notes during interviews without looking at the paper, their class's fellowship event: capture the flag crossed with paint tag, getting her big Katherine Glass-Hardenbergh, and doing 70 brother interviews over the required 40 passing the previous record of interviews done.

In her first semester as a Brother, Alyssa was very excited for all that PSP offered.  She loved all the events and experiences that it offered.  She got to go to her first Alpha Beta and go to the river for a Delta Chi tradition.  Some of the events that she has come to really enjoy over her time as a Brother are family competition days, which are a lot of fun and always friendly, That thing we do on Fridays, which were a noncredit Brothers at Large event, Fellowship events and anything in the area of cake or cupcake decorating yuuuum.

Alyssa's favorite moments with her Brothers are eating volcanoes at the inside scoop, Brotherhood retreats, many movie nights and midnight premieres, skydiving, going to ICR events, mega Harry Potter movie marathon and pretty much everything that has made her college experience the fantastic journey that it's been.

After enjoying her own initiation so much Alyssa decided that it would be the committee she wanted to be on the most and so applied for it for the next two semesters.  At the end of the fall when it was time for a new executive board to be elected, after serious thought she decided to run for Historian feeling that this should be her next step in the Brotherhood.  Since having the position, she was very happy with her decision and worked on ways on improving the position and helping the chapter.  Wanting to stay involved in the chapter and greatly appreciating what the position is about, she became a Brother at Large for her last semester.

National Involvement
August 4-7 2011 was Grand Chapter and National Convention where Alyssa attended as the Alternate Delegate for the Delta Chi Chapter. This was her first time attending both and it took place in Washington D.C. so she was able to experience seeing all the monuments and important buildings of our capitol.  She was very proud to be there as representation of her chapter.  She learned so much, met many great brothers and renewed her love for the fraternity.  This allowed her to be present for Delta Chi receiving their second national award which was Best Chapter in the East Region, meet the National President Jonah Goodman who is also the head of the Tie Dye family line and be certified as a local facilitator for Leadership in Action.  Alyssa was very excited to bring back all the information she learned back to the chapter.
