Amber Murphy (born 13 July 1989) is an Active Member of Epsilon Eta Chapter (ΕΗ 37) at Eastern Kentucky University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Amber Murphy decided to attend Eastern Kentucky University after graduating from WCHS in the Spring of 2007. She picked Eastern because of its renowned College of Education and its inviting and "small-campus" atmosphere. After a semester on campus, Amber wanted to challenge herself and get involved on campus. After receiving a letter in the mail about Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of 2008, she decided to check it out. Because Phi Sigma Pi emphasizes leadership, scholarship, and fellowship, it turned out to be a good match! Besides being involved in Phi Sigma Pi, Amber has been involved in EKU Marching Colonels (2007-2008), Christian Student Fellowship (2007-present) and NSSHLA (2009-present).

Collegiate Years at Epsilon Eta Chapter

Amber currently holds the office of Initiate Advisor (Spring 2010 and Fall 2010). This is her second semester in this position, and she loves it so! She loves teaching the Initiates about Phi Sigma Pi and hopes to get them involved in the Chapter. Some events that Amber is planning for the Initiates this semester are the semester retreat and Big/Little Olympics. Amber also holds the position of Alumni Relations Chair, which she has held for four consecutive semesters (Spring 2009, Fall 2009, Spring 2010, Fall 2010). She loves being in contact with the Alumni. Some of the events that Amber has coordinated for the Alumni are a Hollywood themed Founder's Day called "The EH List," a football Homecoming tailgate, and an Alumni Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

Amber has also held the position of Rush Advisor (Fall 2009). The Rush that she held was titled "Around the World" and focused on international games and foods. It turned out to be one of the best Rushes in Epsilon Eta history (thus far)!

Amber also attended the 2009 National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky.

Bigs and Littles

Amber's Big Brother is Alyssa Elder, member of the Delta Class, who is currently still attending EKU. Amber had no idea who to ask to be her Big, but everything has worked out nicely! Alyssa has always been there for advise and going shopping!

Amber has 2 Little Brothers:

Other Interesting Facts

Amber wants to be a speech-language pathologist when she graduates. Ideally, she would like to work in the schools-- either in early childhood or at the elementary level.
