I was inducted into Phi Sigma Pi in the Fall of 2009 and I am a part of the Xi class. As an initiate, I was the Xi class Vice President and Fundraising chair. My initiate fundraiser was a bake sale during Founder's Day Weekend.

He has also in the been the Social Committee Chair, the floating Homecoming Committee Chair, and served on the floating Risk Management Committee. Working to meet the fluidity of the membership numbers, Bret cut and merged Officer positions at the Epsilon Alpha Chapter. Previously, there was a Recording Secretary, a Corresponding Secretary, and a Standards Advisor. Bret merged the two secretary positions and delegated miscellaneous duties to other Officers, such as the Parliamentarian and President. Standards are also now kept and monitored by the Chapter Secretary.

He merged the Rush, Initiate, Public Relations, and Internet Public Relations committee into one committee, the Recruitment and Initiation committee. This committee is co-chaired by the Recruitment Advisor, the Initiate Advisor, as well as a Public Relations chair. He dissolved the Philanthropy Development committee. Now, the Service and Fundraising committees work together to ensure that the Chapter is devoted time and charity to our national philanthropy, Teach for America. The Fundraising committee donated 30% of all proceeds directly to Teach for America, and the Service committee has at least one Teach for America specific community service event per semester.

Bret Shambo (born 23 July 1989) is an Active Member of Epsilon Alpha Chapter (ΕΑ 170) at Kutztown University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Bret was inducted into Phi Sigma Pi in the Fall of 2009 and was a member of the Xi initiate class. As an initiate, Bret was the Xi class Vice President and Fundraising chair. His initiate fundraiser was a bake sale during Founder's Day Weekend.
