T. Brian Bunton (born 3 April 1979) is an Alumnus of Beta Kappa Chapter (BK 299) at Clemson University. He is currently Chapter Adviser to the Zeta Xi Chapter at Coastal Carolina University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Brian enrolled at Clemson in Fall 1996 after graduating from Wren High School in Piedmont, SC. He was recruited to join Phi Sigma Pi within minutes of stepping on campus by his dorm RA and BK's Initiate Advisor, Austin Dantzler, and his then-girlfriend Dawn Sarnowski. He was a member of the Zeta Class, then the largest BK class ever.

Collegiate Years at Beta Kappa Chapter

Days after Induction, Brian attended the 1997 Grand Chapter Conference with several other Brothers. The next year, he was the Chapter's Webmaster as well as the Chapter's Delegate to the 1998 Grand Chapter Conference. Brian served as Beta Kappa's Secretary in the 1998-1999 academic year. Brian helped create the popular Rate Your Professor web site, hosted by the Chapter. Brian was roommates with several BK Brothers: John Hausman, Matthew Nicoletta, Louis Damanti, and Paola Alboni.

Alumni Years to Present

Upon graduating from Clemson University in 2000, Brian enrolled in the PhD program in physics at Duke University. Brian received his degree in 2007 and is currently an assistant professor of physics at Coastal Carolina University, where he is now Zeta Xi Chapter Adviser. In 2013, he became a member of the National Alumni Association and the Phi Sigma Pi Foundation.

  • Brian is a die-hard Clemson fan, holding football season tickets since graduation. He has also attended two bowl games: the 1999 Peach Bowl and the 2008 Gator Bowl. He is an even bigger fan of baseball, both of Clemson and his newly-adopted Chanticleers of CCU.
  • Brian has served in the bridal party for several BK Brothers: Austin and Dawn Dantzler, Brian Eaddy, Brian Mock, and Jason Radecke.
