Early Fraternity Life and Career

Britt joined Phi Sigma Pi at Alpha Rho in the fall of her sophomore year at Virginia Tech after attending rush with her friend and future brother Caty Borum. Britt was the initiation class president of the Delta class at Alpha Rho.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Rho Chapter

Britt always believed that Initiation was a critical element in a chapter's success, the "life blood of the chapter." She served as Initiation Chair and Initiate Advisor before running and being elected to National Council.

In 1995, Britt and Herb Higginbotham led the design of one of the largest interchapter events held up to that point in Phi Sigma Pi's history. In an attempt to expand Alpha Rho's Founder's Weekend, which was held 3 weeks before National Convention that year, they invited all Council candidates to attend and speak during dinner. Six candidates participated, and brothers came from roughly 15 chapters to attend the dinner, a Virginia Tech football game, and a weekend of events. Two years later, Alpha Rho and Beta Delta merged their two successful Founder's Weekend events to create a unique annual event between them.

In 1998, Britt was awarded the Chapter Service Key at the annual event she helped create.

Alumni Years to Present

Britt was elected to Vice President of Alumni Development during her senior year at Virginia Tech. She served in that role and later the Senior Vice President role with great energy and success, and was later recognized by the fraternity with the Distinguished Service Key.

Britt is married to Joshua Marder and they have a young daughter Madeleine.
