Making an Amendment to the Chapter By-laws

Amending Chapter By-laws requires more than a majority vote, and the specific vote requirements should be listed in the By-laws. Generally, an amendment will be proposed during New Business and is voted on at the next meeting. This is to ensure that all brothers have ample time to review the proposed change in order to debate and vote meaningfully. At the second meeting, the amendment will be debated and voted upon in the same way as a general motion.
