The Chapter Finance and Fundraising Resource Guide (a.k.a. The Money FAQ) intends to assist chapters in sharing ideas for chapter budgeting, long-term financial planning, and the challenging area of fundraising. This guide is not intended as specific or required direction on any topic, and it does not serve as substitute or supersede any direction on finances, payments due, or risk management areas (e.g. insurance) given by the National Governing Documents or the National Office.

IRS descriptions:

  • At the National level, Phi Sigma Pi is a 501(c)(3) non-profit
  • At the Chapter level, Phi Sigma Pi chapters are considered social clubs by the IRS, meaning primarily that they do not pay taxes but can not directly take in tax-exempt contributions.
