Chaz was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2005 at the beginning of his freshman year in high school, he and his family had to relocate to Memphis, Tennessee due to hurricane Katrina. There he graduated from Sheffield High School in May of 2009. After graduating, Chaz was uncertain of what college he wanted to attend. He was then recommended for Middle Tennessee State University. Chaz began attending MTSU in the fall of 2009. During his second semester at MTSU, he received an e-mail recommending him to rush with Phi Sigma Pi.
