Early Fraternity Life and Career

Following in the steps of his Virginia Tech alumni parents, David decided to enroll at Virginia Tech after graduating from high school, beginning in Fall 1997. As a freshman, he rushed Phi Sigma Pi in Spring 1998. After a successful Initiation period, David was Inducted into the Chapter with the Nu Initiate Class in April of that year.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Rho Chapter

During his time as an undergraduate Brother, David was very active within the Chapter. He was a faithful attendee at Alpha Rho events as well a regular at interchapter events. He was especially involved with several of the Chapter's intramural sports teams, serving as captain in many of the seasons. He also helped host many of the Chapter's theme parties.

David demonstrated his pursuit of leadership in impressive fashion, serving 3.5 consecutive years on the Chapter's Executive Board. In Spring 1999 he stepped into the role of Treasurer when the prior Treasurer was unable to complete his term. That spring he was re-elected as Treasurer for the 1999-2000 academic year. The following year he served as Vice President External, and his senior year he served as Parliamentarian.

David's interests were not limited to fellowship and leadership. In recognition of his relentless pursuit of knowledge, in 2002 he was honored with the Most Exemplary Scholarship superlative at the Chapter's annual Semiformal banquet.
