Delta Tau Chapter Presidents

The President of Delta Tau Chapter is the head of the executive branch of Delta Tau's chapter government. The President has a duty to enforce chapter laws, and the power to either approve or veto bills passed by the Delta Tau Chapter, to convene a chapter meeting at any time, and, except in cases of treason or impeachment, to grant pardons and reprieves.

To be elected president, a person must be at least 30 years old, and must have been a citizen of the United States for twenty years and a resident of Delta Tau for at least five years at the time of inauguration. The Chapter Bylaws of Delta Tau, ratified in 2001, calls for a one-year term for the president. The vice president is elected at the same time as the president and serves as an ex-officio member of the chapter's standing committees. When the office of president becomes vacant for any reason, the vice president becomes president for the remainder of the term.

The President of Delta Tau is also, by virtue of his office, a member of the Sanction Appeal Board.

History

Since Delta Tau became a chapter, it has had 14 presidents. The chapter's longest-serving presidents are Greg Harris, Chuck Emrick, Mandy Hackman, and Dallas Brock, who each served two terms. The shortest-serving presidents were Christopher Schaffer and Lisa Rubiano, who each served  one semester. The current president is Dallas Brock, who took office Spring 2016. His term will end in Spring 2018.
