Event Duration: 2 Hours
Post Event Time: 15 to 30 Minutes

Access to a Campus Room, Size accordingly to Chapter Size

Materials required:

Deck(s) of Cards
Board Games that Brothers own.
Beverages
Ballons
Tape

Event Summary: This Event is commonly used in the beginning of the Rush week. The main goal of this event is a Meet and Greet. It allows Brothers to actively engage converstation with perspective Members. Being in a room full of strangers can be a very intimidating environment for some people and the games help potential members interact with brothers more comfortably. This helps reduce any type of intimidation and awkward moments that potential members might have. Beverages are provided by the chapter.

Teamwork Activities;

  • Balloon Towers
Split everyone who arrives into multiple teams of 5-6 people. They are each given a few bags of balloons and scotch tape. They then have 10 minutes to inflate and build a tower from their balloons, with the tallest tower winning.

Card games can include;

  • Spoons
  • Bullshit
  • Rummy
  • Egyptian Ratscrew
  • Gin Rummy
  • Kings in the Corner

Board Games can include;

  • Risk
  • Catch Phrase
  • Apples to Apples
  • Dirty Minds
  • Monopoly


Steps:

  1. Reserve a Campus Room
  2. Promote Rush Night
  3. Buy Soda/Water & Cups
  4. Have brothers arrive a few minutes early
  5. A few minutes after event was supposed to start, have a short welcoming address
  6. Have fun!
