Gamma Omega Chapter (Founded 21 April 1998) is located at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Chapter was founded by Chapter alumnus Name and is a member of the Central Region.

Chapter History

Founding

Early Years

Most founding fathers and officers who started the Gamma Omega chapter graduated in 2000 and membership was on the downfall. Brother Bonnie Romano took presidency in 2001 for two years and grew the chapter from 6 members to 60.

The Active Chapter

The current chapter has 44 active members, 5 inactive, and 19 in the 2010 Spring Initiate class.

Chapter Events & Activities

Founder's Weekend

April 23rd, 2010 is Gamma Omega's Founder's Day formal. On Gamma Omega's 12th Anniversary, members will be initiating their Omega Class.

Central Regional Conference

(2010)

  • Gamma Omega brought 12 members to the superhero themed Central Region Conference in Normal, Illinois hosted by the Delta Eta chapter of Illinois State University.

(2011)

  • The conference will be held at Missouri (Mizzou) hosted by the Delta Xi Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi's Central Region.

Regional Conference Hosting

Gamma Omega hosted the 2009 Central Region Conference, bringing over 100 brothers form the Central Region to the University of Nebraska - Lincoln for a Legends of the Hidden Temple themed weekend. Members of the Purple Parrots won the competition, with the Red Jaguars winning events in the obstacle race and Phi Sigma Pi knowledge competition, and Orange Iguanas winning the Teach for America school supplies tower contest.
