Jamie Bergstein (born 1 August 1988) is an Active Member of the Beta Upsilon Chapter (ΒΥ 150) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

As a freshman, Jamie was eager to get involved with more things on campus. After receiving a letter inviting her to join Phi Sigma Pi, Jamie decided to attend an information session. Although she was unsure at first, she decided to attend more rush events. Now Phi Sigma Pi is a central part of Jamie's college career.

Collegiate Years at Beta Upsilon Chapter

During her Initiate semester, Jamie was the social committee chair. Jamie was on the service committee for her first semester as a Brother. In her third semester, she was elected Historian because the current Historian decided to step down. Jamie enjoyed this position greatly and was elected for another semester. During her time as Historian, Jamie made scrapbooks, a giant family tree of the chapter, a yearbook, and created the "Chapter Bucks" program. With the Chapter Bucks program, Brothers can earn "money" for attending extra events, getting good grades, etc. The Fall 2008 winner, Uriel Rodriguez, won a $20 gift certificate to the campus store! Although Jamie loved being Historian, her dream was finally fulfilled when she was elected Initiate Advisor for Spring 2009, a position Jamie wanted since she first pledged. On April 30, 2009, Jamie proudly inducted 17 new Brothers into the Alpha Beta class. As a senior she now serves on the Alumni committee.

Jamie attended her first National Convention in 2008 with Brother and close friend, Christine Rega. Even though it was a 13 hour drive from New Jersey to Tennessee, Christine and Jamie had an amazing time and took back an immense sense of pride and excitement to their chapter.

Her first ICR event was NERC (Northeast Regional Conference) 2009 which was hosted by Epislon Kappa (Wentworth).
