Janine Garrett (born 9 November 1985) is an Alumna Member of Eta Chapter (Η 839) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Early Fraternity Life and Career
Janine began attending IUP in September 2003. To appease a friend, she attended Phi Sigma Pi rush events the following Spring. She met dozens of energetic Phi Sigma Pi brothers and fell in love with the organization.
Collegiate Years at Eta Chapter
Positions Held:
- Public Relations Chair: Fall 2004-Spring 2005
- Initiate Advisor: Fall 2005-Spring 2006
- Chapter Historian: Fall 2006-Spring 2007
Through her roles at Eta Chapter, Janine created and organized many events; her favorite of which was a biannual Scotch Doubles Bowling Big/Little Event.
Janine also won several formal awards at Eta Chapter. These included 4 "Kelly Lang Biggest Flirt Awards," Most Dedicated Brother, Most Enthusiastic Brother, Dynamic Duo Award (along with Audrey Lilley), and 4 Top Attendance Awards.
Alumni Years to Present
Janine has been an Alumna of Eta Chapter since her graduation in May 2007. In 2008 she worked as a junior olympic volleyball coach; middle school and high school volleyball coach; and substitute math teacher in the Quaker Valley School District.
Currently she is working as a Geometry Teacher at Sharon High School. She is also the assistant varsity softball and volleyball coach at Sharon.
On October 2, 2008 she got engaged to Buddy Stuart. They plan to be married on September 26, 2009.She currently resides with Buddy in New Castle, Pa.
National Involvement
Janine has attended two Grand Chapter (Pittsburgh and Missouri) and two National Convention Events (Washington DC and New Orleans). She has also attended two regional conferences for the Allegheny Region (ARCTIC). Janine has also traveled to several chapters for interchapter events. Some of these chapters include: Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, Edinboro, and University of Maryland. Janine also organized an interchapter trip to Hershey Park and National Headquarters in Lancaster, PA.
In addition to traveling, Janine also served as a member of the National Membership Development Committee (MDC) from 2006-2007.

Janine's Big Brother is Jamie Straub (nee Orcutt) who is now married and living in Altoona, Pa. She and her husband are expecting a baby in the spring.

Academics
Janine graduated from Quaker Valley High School in 2003 and from IUP in May 2007. She currently holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics Education.

Other Interesting Facts
Janine is very interested in sports. Last summer she participated in 4 different softball leagues. One of her softball teams, The Pittsburgh Rivals, won the ASA Division D State Tournament in State College, Pa in 2008. Currently, she is a member of two competitive bowling teams and has participated in many state and local bowling tournaments. She also participates in an active volleyball league and in several tournaments each year. In addition, she has coached varsity, middle school, and junior olympic volleyball as well as varsity softball.
