Joshua decided to attend the University of Missouri in August of 2000 because of their journalism school. While there, he also decided to pursue a secondary degree in English. He graduated with dual degrees in May of 2004.

Joshua joined the Delta Xi chapter of Phi Sigma Pi in the spring semester of 2002. The fraternity was recommended to him by two friends from his hometown of Rolla, MO. Seeing that those two friends were polar opposites, he attended an informational night to see what kind of organizaiton would attract such a diverse group of people. Josh's years since becoming an alumni have all been spent in service to the fraternity. After graduating, he worked as a region consultant for the Central, Mid-Atlantic, and Mid-South regions, as well as three chapters in the Southwest. He also worked with the founding members of Epsilon Zeta to help start their chapter of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in the fall of 2004.

During these events, Brothers would meet, eat free food, watch movies, and play sports, all so they could enjoy each other's company while getting away from the pressures of everyday chapter business.
