Early Fraternity Life and Career
I joined Phi Sigma Pi as a member of the Kappa Class for the Fall initiation in 2007. I was the class secretary. Being an initiate for this fraternity was such an amazing experience that really allowed me to bond with Brothers and fellow initiates. My favorite part of initiation was our Hollywood Social where we played Hollywood Squares, dressed up like celebs, and had a blast!
Collegiate Years at Epsilon Alpha
Once becoming a Brother I was placed on the Initiate Committee. The following term, I was elected Recruitment Advisor and had an awesome time getting people to come out for rush week. Then, I found my true passion within the Brotherhood when elected into the position of Initiate Advisor! I advised over the Nu Class and Xi Class for our Chapter. They are truly some of the most amazing people I met throughout my college experience and really made me proud! Experiencing all that I have over the past five semesters with this Chapter I can't imagine my college experience without it!
Alumni Years to Present
I'm currently working full-time as an early childhood educator with students 1-2 years of age. Within the next few years I hope to obtain a teaching position within the primary grades of a public school district.

Bigs and Littles
Katie Pursell has had the pleasure of being a Big for Epsilon Alpha twice. Her first little is Julie Kopistansky. She was a member of the Lambda Class in the Spring of 2008. She currently holds the position of Social Chair. Her second little Kai Sannicks was the president of the Mu Initiate Class and is currently serving on the fund-raising committee and committee head for our big event. Katie's big is Mary Kate Ott, who is a member of the 2009 graduating class of Kutztown University. She was the 2008-2009 Vice President. Prior to that she held the position of Service Chair.

Katie Pursell enjoys doing any hobbies in the arts fields, mainly drawing, painting, and dancing. She loves outdoor activities like hiking and going for long runs with her amazingly cute german shepherd named Mackenzie.
