Early Fraternity Life and Career
Laura attended the initial start-up meetings for Phi Sigma Pi at Virginia Tech and was inducted as a Founder of Alpha Rho Chapter on November 3, 1991.
Collegiate Years at Alpha Rho Chapter
Laura was elected the first Vice President of Alpha Rho during the initial meetings of the Chapter. Upon returning from Winter Break in January of 1992, Christime Abom stepped aside as President, and Laura transitioned from Vice President into the role or President, becoming the second President in the Chapter's brief history. Laura served as President for the remainder of the academic year, drawing on her experience from her sorority to guide the organization through the critical first year.
