Lauren "Kwiat" Kwiatkowski (born 5-30-1992) is an Collegiate Member of Gamma Tau Chapter (#375) at Tulane University. She is originally from a small suburb in Central Jersey near the Shore, but has come to consider New Orleans her home.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Lauren joined Gamma Tau in the spring of her freshman year as a member of Gamma Tau's Alpha Beta class. She decided to rush after seeing some intriguing chalk advertisements near her dorm about an "Honor Frat" of sorts. She served as the Fundraising Chair of her Initiate Class. As soon as she was inducted as a Brother, she began a mission to make as many unique and clever bro puns as possible.

Collegiate Years at Sample Chapter

Lauren has served as the Service Chair in the fall 2011 semester, Public Relations Chair in the spring 2012 semester, Fundraising Chair in the spring 2013 semester, Chapter Delegate at the 2013 National Convention, and finally as the President for the 2013-2014 academic year. Her proudest achievements include designing the famous Harry Potter themed Phi Sigma Pi letters, beginning Gamma Tau's Donuts for Dogs fundraising event for Animal Rescue New Orleans, creating one of the first Phi Sigma Pi Tumblr pages (heckyesgammatau.tumblr.com), and helping piece together "If You Wannabe My Brother", Gamma Tau's winning music video entry for NYMAAC's "Are We Not Entertained?" competition.

National Involvement

Lauren journeyed to National Convention in 2013 where she represented Gamma Tau with her lovely Brother Jessie Kardos. Shortly after, she journeyed down to Washington D.C. to spend a day bro-ing out with her favorite Brothers from George Washington University. In the fall 2013 semester, Lauren began to test the possibilities of creating a PSP colony at Loyola University New Orleans, Tulane's next door neighbor. Lauren has also been involved with national initiatives to increase inclusion of key demographics, particularly gender non-conforming students. She is proud that Gamma Tau will propose a constitutional amendment at the 2014 National Convention to include "gender" in Phi Sigma Pi's national anti-discrimination policy!

Lauren's Twin is Lance Tran and they are collectively known as the ever-infamous Timber Twins. Lauren's Brophew is Nick Ballou, who she will always endearingly refer to as "The Riddler".

Collectively, they are known as "#legendaryfam". Yes, the hash tag is required. Their motto is "legends are forever, so we are forever a family". Adorable, right?

Other Interesting Facts

Everyone calls her "Kwiat" because there has always been multiple Laurens in Gamma Tau. Also, it's ironic, because it's pronounced "Quiet" but she is quite the opposite of that. But seriously, in a PSP setting, she most likely will not respond to "Lauren"! Her favorite value of the Tripod is Fellowship and she loves the unconditional camaraderie and support Phi Sigma Pi provides to all Brothers. Lauren aspires to be a historian of China and plans to become fluent in both Chinese and Japanese. Don't even get her started on her love for Ellie Goulding or the United States Women's Soccer Team.
