Lauren Millerd (born 16 April 1987) is an Active Member of Beta Pi Chapter (ΒΠ 411) at the University of Connecticut.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Beginning in Fall of 2005, Lauren decided to go to UConn because it was close to her home, as well as being a good school. Campus activities have included Classics Club, AQUA (Allies and Queers Undergraduate Association), QUAD (Queers United Against Discrimination), The Rainbow Center, ExpLORE (career preparation program), various Community Outreach activities, Active Minds, and LAST but definitely not least, joining the Beta Pi chapter of Phi Sigma Pi, as a member of the Alpha Alpha class in Fall of 2007.

Lauren is an American Red Cross certified Waterfront Lifeguarding Instructor and Water Safety Instructor. In (2008), she was one of two Head Lifeguards at her town beach in Columbia, CT. She was in charge of constructing/implementing swim lessons.

Lauren worked on campus at the infirmary in Medical Records. She also recently began working as a Mental Health Worker at Natchaug Hospital, in the Adult Inpatient Unit. She graduated in December 2009.

Lauren has participated in multiple service events through the Chapter, including Relay for Life, Making Strides for Breast Cancer, and GUARD DOGS.

Lauren helped to re-write the Risk Management program at Beta Pi chapter, and enjoyed serving her chapter as a member of E-Board and as Corresponding Secretary. Her little is Jenni Saunders, a member of the Alpha Beta class of Spring 2008.

Lauren is currently a member of Boston Area Alumni Association.

Lauren is in graduate school for her master's in clinical social work at Smith College School for Social Work. She will be graduating in August 2014.
