Intrigued by the significance of the letters Phi Sigma Pi, Mike decided to rush the National Honor Fraternity in February of 2009, during his second semester at Towson University.  Pledging himself to be a loyal Little Brother, Mike was adopted by the Flame Family under the guidance, mentoring and tutelage of Big Brother Santi Putri, who duly nicknamed him for his simplistic and persistent method of problem solving.  The Fraternal Bonds of Family Brotherhood were ignited between Mike, his Big Santi, his Grand Big Kelly Fewster, and his Great Grand Big (and alumnae e-pal) [[Megan Purkey]], and of course his brotherhood family flame [[Sara Feldman]].

In his first semester as an active Brother, Mike was assigned to the service committee, organized by committee chair Mary Howard of the Foxy Phi Class and natural leader with true Team spirit.  Mike continues to offer unique service ideas and Advantage Angles from logically thinking inside the box.  Mike looks forward to continued stabilization of his personal tripod and core academic principles as well as maintaining the collective strength of the Gamma Pi chapter, [[Capitol Region]] and National Fraternity all while fulfilling weekly attendance requirements and performance of rudimentary brotherhood duties.

Mike is a Native of Towson, Maryland.  He was born at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) and grew up on Stevenson Lane less than 1 mile from the Towson University Campus.  A resident of Baltimore County for most of his life, Mike is a beneficiary of the economic advantage of in-state tuition.  Avid cyclist and residential off campus bike commuter.

A Regional Dialogue: "The Heterographic Homophone" - The word "Capital" refers to the most important city of a country or region, our letters are Capitals in the Greek alphabet and resources used for investment or funding a business are referred to as Capital.  A "Capitol" is a building.  A building which houses a legislative assembly.  In the United States the Capitol is the seat of the U.S. congress in Washington D.C., which is the Capital.  The chapter at Towson University is located in the Capitol Region.  Which is "the building."  This building is set upon 3 columns.  One of which is capped with the ornate Corinthian capital of Scholarship.  Another with the unwaveringly solid Doric capital of Leadership, and another with the binary beauty of an Ionic capital of Fellowship.  Diversity and Strength.
