In 1928, Rolla F. Wood (Alpha 39) became the National President. "Wood is credited with galvanizing the National Officers into a cohesive unit."1 Under Wood's leadership, the fraternity began to flourish, and was represented in the creation of the Professional Interfraternity Conference in 1928.

The 44th Empowered Council, November 2006

The 45th Empowered Council is comprised of the Council members from the 44th Empowered Council with Kadira Coley appointed on April 23, 2007 as interim Vice President of Alumni Development. That position was left vacant with the election of Jonah Goodman to the office of National President. That election led to the 45th Empowered Council. Upon installation of the elected Vice President of Alumni Development at the 2007 Grand Chapter Conference at National Convention in New Orleans, LA, National Council will become the 46th Empowered Council. National Councils are notated by the next successive Empowered Council upon an election, however this does not change for interim appointments.
