The Phi Sigma Pi Parliamentarian Guide

The Phi Sigma Pi Parliamentarian Guide intends to assist chapters in running more efficient meetings, learning more about Robert's Rules of Order, and tips for teaching parliamentary procedure to members and initiates. This guide is not intended as specific or required direction on any topic, and it does not serve as substitute or supersede any direction on events, funding, or risk management areas (e.g. insurance) given by the National Governing Documents or the National Office.

Please join in making this a living document and assisting other chapters by adding, editing, and improving the information contained here.

Responsibilities

The National Constitution outlines the responsibilities of the Parliamentarian as follows:

  1. Be responsible for maintaining and upholding Robert's Rules of Order;
  2. Be a voting member of the Executive Board at the Chapter's discretion;
  3. Perform such other duties as may be assigned to the Parliamentarian.
