This proposal is to create a new Purple and Gold Award.

Most Outstanding Alumni Organization

This award is intended to recognize an outstanding Phi Sigma Pi alumni organization, including alumni chapters and associations.

Selection Process

The inaugural award will be selected from a slate of nominees by the Awards,Scholarship, and Emblems committee. The field of nominees would be supplied to the AS&E committee from National Staff recommendations. Beginning in the 2012 award cycle, alumni organizations will be able to apply for the Most Outstanding Alumni Organization award via an optional essay (similar to existing Form 110 Outstanding Event essays).

Rationale

Currently, there are no national awards that recognize solely the achievements of alumni organizations. Be creating an award for Most Outstanding Alumni Organization, current alumni organizations will maintain or increase involvement to be awarded.

  • What is the motion to be made on this?
