Rebekah Alford is an Alumni Member of Gamma Pi Chapter (ΓΠ 215) at Towson University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Rebekah decided to attend Towson University after much contemplation. Having just moved from the west coast to attend school in Maryland, she desired a way to get connected with the campus and community. After trying numerous organizations, in the spring of her Freshman year she heard of Phi Sigma Pi. While sitting in a Pre-Med meeting, one of the now alumni Brothers, Randall Mazzarino, announced that Phi Sigma Pi was having their Rush week and he encouraged everyone to come out. After seeing the bond these individuals had while still participating in a well organized group she knew she had found her niche.

Shortly after being pinned, she discovered she was accepted into a study abroad program in Newcastle, England. The Brotherhood allowed her to be inducted even though she would be gone that fall. Between emails and online chatting she eased into the Phi Sigma Pi lifestyle when she returned in spring of 2008. The understanding and thoughtfulness of the Brothers while she was away emphasized the knowledge she had that this was an organization she wanted to be a part of.

Collegiate Years at Gamma Pi Chapter

In the spring of 2008, Rebekah was a member of the alumni committee. That fall she was on the fundraising committee as well as a member of the executive board by serving as the chapter Treasurer. By spring of 2009 she was leading her chapter as the President and did so until she graduated in May 2010. With this role came a position on the membership committee. In spring 2010 she was also elected Rush Advisor and oversaw one of the largest Rush Classes Gamma Pi had ever seen. During this time she was on the Inter-Chapter Relations committee.

Her junior year (08-09), she roomed with another Gamma Pi Brother with whom she made many baked goods for the various Phi Sigma Pi fundraisers. That same year she was awarded the Best Eboard Retreat Award, Awesome President Award, Most Active Brother Award, Most Spirited Brother (Tie with Mary Howard), and the Tripod Brother Award.

One of her most fond memories was getting the book "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" from her Little, Allison Shafer after Senior Wills. Her best "look back and laugh" moment was when Alyson Bass booked a hotel for their ICR trip in Greenville, SOUTH Carolina instead of Greenville, NORTH Carolina.

Alumni Years to Present

Rebekah was fortunate enough to be on the Alumni Advisory Board for 2010-2011. She is currently a Lieutenant in the US Navy and flies MH-60S helicopters.
