S Family

History of the S Family

• Also known as "Squid Family" (but this name is rarely used)

• The S Family was created by Brian "Squidy" Mock, of the Delta Class (Spring 1996). His (non-Brother) freshman year roommate bestowed the nickname upon him.

• The S Family is, by far, the largest family of Beta Kappa (as of Fall 2012).

• The S Family has a tradition of "S names." Once a Brother takes a Little into the S Family the Little receives a secret "S name," chosen by their Big. This is supposed to be known only to the Big and Little.
