Kelly Albright (born 15 July 1985) is an Alumni Member of Beta Chapter (Β 596) at Truman State University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Kelly Albright graduated from Rosati-Kain High School in 2004 and began attending Truman State University that fall. It took her awhile to figure out what she wanted to get involved in, but she found out about Phi Sigma Pi through some friends and decided to try it out. Almost immediately she realized it was a perfect fit.

Collegiate Years at Beta Chapter

Kelly ran for Initiate Advisor at the end of her first active semester and was elected for the Spring 2007 and Fall 2007 semesters. The position made her realize how much she loved being in PSP and she really enjoyed spending so much time with Intiates. Some of them told her that they found her intimidating, despite her under-five-feet height, but she's still not sure she believes them. After her term as IA ended, she was still very active in the Chapter and is proud to say that she had interviewed every single Initiate every semester as an active Brother.

Alumni Years to Present

Kelly graduated from Truman in May 2008. As her graduation date got closer, she realized she wasn't quite ready to give up PSP, so she became a Region Consultant for the 2008-2009 school year. She was the 08-09 consultant to Central Region, Southwest Region, and the Ohio Chapters in the Great Lakes Region. She had Chapters in every time zone, which got confusing, but loved it anyway and got to see a lot of cool places. She is also part of the Alumni Advisory Board for Beta Chapter, and frequently reads the Chapter's message board. Currently, she is the Recruitment and Special Events Coordinator for Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis (her alma mater!). She is training for her first half marathon and is also trying to get through all 131 beers at Growler's Pub (the two kind of cancel each other out).

National Involvement

Kelly attended National Convention in DC Fall 2006, and it made her realize what being a Brother in Phi Sigma Pi really meant. She attended the Central Regional Conference in Spring 2008, along with 32 other Beta Brothers. For spring break 2008, Kelly, along with Beta Brothers Matt Butler and Karen Uhlrich, took a 2600 mile long road trip. The first stop, after a drive through a near blizzard, was Gamma Beta in Morehead, KY, the second was Gamma Psi in Williamsburg, VA, and the third was Gamma Iota in Charleston, SC. It was a crazy trip and definitely worth the money. The most recent experience with national involvement Kelly has had is with the position of Region Consultant, and it has really given her a big picture view of the Fraternity that she never had before. Attending the 2008 Grand Chapter/National Convention in Nashville as a National Staff member was definitely an interesting, sleep-deprived experience, but extremely enjoyable. Attending the 2009 National Convention as a post staff member was also extremely enjoyable, but for different reasons.

Bigs and Littles

Kelly's bigs were Hannah Edwards (Xi Class) and Katie Keeven (Sigma Class).

Kelly also took two littles, both with her fabulous co-big Karen Uhlrich (fellow Upsilon Class member): Erin Collins (Phi Class) and Tim Williams (Chi Class). In Fall 2007, Kelly and Karen's littles decided they wanted to have a family name, and also wanted Kelly and Karen to be the heads of this family. Karen and Kelly were, of course, totally up for it, and after much discussion, the group decided to name itself The Fam (capital T, capital F), for lack of any better ideas. The Fam has grown tremendously and Kelly and Karen even have family members that go as far down as great great great granlittle. It's getting hard to keep track of them all.

Other Interesting Facts

Kelly loves music (her other passion besides PSP) and plays the drums (but not well, and not often). She has lived in St. Louis all her life, except for college, and is a lifelong loyal fan of the Cardinals and the Blues. For several semesters Kelly was the shortest person in Beta Chapter and bragged constantly about it.
