Collegiate Years

Gamma Eta Involvement

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Stuart entered Florida State University in the Fall of 2011 as a freshman double-majoring in Statistics and Psychology. After an uneventful Fall semester Freshman year, he decided to rush the Gamma Eta chapter of Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of 2012 after receiving a flyer in his mailbox on campus. Stuart was one of seven initiates that semester, and one of five to be inducted into the fraternity as a Brother. His rush, class the Alpha Theta Class, is arguably the closest class in the chapters recent history with all five Brothers eventually going on to become alumni.

Collegiate Years at Gamma Eta Chapter

A week after becoming a brother of Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of 2012 he became the chapters Public Relations Chair. In the summer and fall of 2012 he revamped the out of date PR system in use by the chapter and began PR earlier than usual as well as extending its reach on campus. Utilizing resources from Nationals as well as holding an extremely successful night at Florida State's Fall involvement fair, the chapter got a rush class of 18 initiates, larger than the previous two semesters combined.

Stuart worked with then Vice President Kate Lopez at restructuring the position of Vice President to allow for more control over the committees, and also attempted to re-formalize formal chapter with the inclusion of the Fraternal shield. At the end of Fall of 2012 the bylaws were suspended to allow him to run for the suddenly vacant position of Vice President, which he successfully won.

In the Spring of 2013 Stuart juggled being both Vice President and Public Relations Chair and he was elected to the position of president of the Gamma Eta chapter for the 2013-2014 school year, just a year after becoming a brother. He also was selected as chapter delegate for the upcoming National Convention and drafted an amendment on behalf of the Gamma Eta chapter to be voted on during Grand Chapter.

In the 2013-2014 school year Stuart led Gamma Eta forward as President. Stuart helped update bylaws in accordance with changing National bylaws as well as eliminated the co-chair position within the chapter for Risk Management. For a brief period in January Stuart served as President as well as acting Vice President and Parliamentarian due to sudden vacancies. In February Stuart became Leadership in Action certified, the first brother of Gamma Eta to do so. At the end of February Stuart was reelected to the Presidency for the 2014-2015 school year.

Bigs and Littles

Stuart with his lineage. (l to r; Jacob Evrett, Austin Chambers, Tyler Heath, Zach Martin, Stuart Klein.)

Stuart is a member of the McClure family in Gamma Eta. At his reveal he was given Alex Azoulay as his Big Brother. The two went on to win Best Big/Little in the Spring 2012 semester and lived together from May 2012 through August 2013. However, due to personal differences he was adopted by Emily Goodwin at the start of the Fall 2012 semester.

Stuart received twins in the Fall of 2012. But due to lack of commitment one of his twins dropped immediately after becoming a brother in January 2013. Stuart remains extremely close with his little Zach Martin (Alpha Iota Class). In the Fall of 2013 Stuart received another little, Faylo (Alpha Lambda Class) who eventually resigned in the Fall of 2014.

In the Fall of 2014 Stuart became a grand big to Tyler Heath (Alpha Nu Class) and in the Spring of 2015 became a great-grand big to Jacob Evrett and Austin Chambers (Alpha Xi Class).

Awards

Stuart has been recognized with a variety of superlatives and awards during his time as an undergraduate. In Spring 2012 in his first semester as a Brother, he was recognized as Best Initiate and Best Big/Little with his then Big Brother, Alex Azoulay. In Fall 2012 he won Most Talkative and Most Memorable, also his then little won best initiate. In Spring 2013 he won Most Outgoing, Best Sense of Humor, and Most Likely to Quote movies. In Fall 2013 he won Most Memorable brother for the second time. In Fall 2014 he won Most Memorable Senior.

Alumni Years to Present

Stuart became an Alumnus of Gamma Eta in the Spring of 2015. Stuart served as one of Gamma Eta's Alumni Advisors for the following school year. He also immediately attempted to become involved with the Central Florida Alumni Chapter. In the summer of 2015 Stuart was elected to President of CFAC for the 2015-2016 year.

After completing his term as President of CFAC Stuart moved to Washington D.C. in the summer of 2016 and became a member of Capital Chapter.

Inter Chapter Involvement

Inter Chapter Events

Stuart loves to build connections with brothers from other chapters and attends ICR events whenever possible.

Stuart formed a close bond with the president of the Delta Lambda Chapter at the University of Miami, Danielle Bouquio at National Convention in 2013. With Stuart's encouargment and guidance Delta Lambda altered their bylaws to resembled Gamma Eta chapter and became much better at recruitment and involved in Inter Chapter events hosting Regional Conference in early 2014 for the Southeast Region and holding their first ICR in Miami April of 2014.

Stuart continued his friendship with the Delta Lambda Chapter as a new president, Maria Ibez, was elected and became close friends with her similar to the relationship formed with Danielle. He did the same for Maria's successor, Anthony Maristany. In fall of 2015 under Anthony's leadership, the Delta Lambda Chapter voted to make Stuart an honorary Brother and he was inducted January 30th, 2016 (ΔΛ 181-R).
