Talk:Alpha Chapter

From PhiSigmaPiWiki

The moratorium on copyrighted works makes The Scholar's Province a forbidden source. Can this be exempted for our purposes, since both the copyright on Scholar's Province and this website are owned by the fraternity?

If you are referencing portions of it for use on the wiki I feel as though that would be appropriate. See Penn State Alumni Chapter for an example. If this does not answer your question let me know and I can get an official decision from Council if that is what you are looking for. (Jonah 13:20, 19 March 2007 (EDT))

The problem arises when trying to adequately describe the early days of Alpha Chapter. Since the Scholar's Province is pretty much the only source (that I know of) on that topic, we'd have to reference a pretty large part of it (Like all of pages 7-8 in my 1999 copy). Pages for Hendricks, Phillips, & McClure may likewise require a large portion to be referenced. Perhaps getting approval from Council would be the best way, if it's not too much trouble, as that would cover our bases all around. (Alphamail2034 0:50, 20 March 2007 (CST))

Not a problem. I sent an email to get their feedback and will let you know. Thanks for asking first btw. (Jonah 11:35, 20 March 2007 (EDT))
You may reference portions of the Scholars' Province as long as you cite the source in an appropriate manner, see Penn State Alumni Chapter reference. Also please do not edit or alter any of the content you are referencing; understandably this is a wiki however those parts should remain off limits. Make sense? (Jonah 12:42, 23 March 2007 (EDT))
