Non-OFSA Greek organizations foster a similar sense of community and alternative to the typical Greek house (TheBrownandWhite.com - April 2, 2015)
At Lehigh, the words “Greek life” tend to be associated with chapters recognized by the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, or groups residing on the Hill. However, an entirely different group of chapters is also part of Lehigh’s Greek culture and environment. The Lehigh chapters of Alpha Omega Epsilon, Alpha Phi Omega, Sigma Phi Delta, and Phi Sigma Pi (ΔΧ) are just some of the student-run Greek organizations that are similar in nature to the OFSA-affiliated chapters, but differ in their mission, focus and operations.

Fraternities face scrutiny, self-analysis after series of scandals (BaltimoreSun.com - March 24, 2015)
Fraternity culture is "very distinct, and a lot of times it's secretive," said Zac McGee (ΓΠ), a Towson University student, member of the coed honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi and president of the University System of Maryland Student Council. "The question is, can you find a way to promote a brotherhood or a sisterhood without having physical or mental harm?" McGee said.

Collection drive serves the underserved (The Temple News - March 24, 2015)
Alexandra Fleming (ΑΛ), the co-president of LPH, has gotten her fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi, to join in assisting Morris Home too, and the students have been making donations every semester. “We had one night of collection where we asked everyone to bring in clothes,” said Fleming, a senior communication studies and Italian double major. “And we collected over 200 items in just one sitting.”

Greek members compete in 1st Olympics for charity (The Crimson White - March 4, 2015)
Members of the University of Alabama Greek system will host their own Greek Olympics to raise money for children with cancer. Carly Jones (ΔΒ), a junior majoring in marine science, biology and telecommunication and film, is the social chair for Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity and created the fundraiser. This is the first year of the event. “I actually thought of the idea last semester, and have been working to put it in place since then,” Jones said. “It is an event where different Greek organizations on campus will be competing in ‘minute-to-win-it’ type games such as relays and tug-of-war to raise money for a
philanthropy of their choice.”
