Members of the Alpha Mu Class of Phi Sigma Pi sold bagels from Panera and the St. Louis Bread Co. to raise money. The money raised from the bagels and donations will go toward the 'Teach for America' organization. 'Teach for America' is a non-profit organization in which recent college graduates teach for at least two years in low-income communities. "It's a wonderful cause. I mean, it's a wonderful thing to make sure that every student has the opportunities that you know people in high income areas have as well as low income," said ''' Kate Ginnard (Β)''', Phi Sigma Pi Fundraising Chair.

Phi Sigma Pi is hosting a two-week canned food drive to benefit the West Alabama Food Bank that will conclude this Friday. '''Caroline Armbrester (ΔΒ)''' said the organization’s work with food relief began during Hurricane Sandy, when one of their brothers asked for help through Facebook, and they shipped 200 cans of food to distribute in the brother’s local community. She said they then decided to focus on the Tuscaloosa area, especially after the April 27, 2011, tornado. “We just want to keep giving back to our community that’s obviously done so much for us,” Armbrester said. She said they planned the drive during the spring because it is an off-season for donating, unlike holiday seasons.

Lehigh’s national co-ed honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi (PSP) held an event Monday in honor of National Epilepsy Awareness Month. The event consisted of two speakers, as well as handing out purple tissue paper flowers and educational bookmarks in the University Center to students, all in the hopes of raising awareness about epilepsy. “I think this event could help the Lehigh community because it will inform students about what epilepsy is and how to react when someone is having a seizure,” said '''Catherine O’Grady (ΔΧ)''', ’15, the PSP leadership chair. “We are not raising money for this event, but rather, we are raising awareness.

As commencement speaker Thomas Snitch exhorted Bowling Green State University’s new graduates Saturday not to underestimate themselves, his message surely was not lost on Tanya Schardt (ΕΒ). The Army veteran from Fremont nearly lost her life in Iraq on Halloween, 2007, when an improvised explosive device struck the armored Humvee in which she and four colleagues rode. A love letter to my time at a small school (trinitonian.com - May 4, 2015)
Having spent my first year participating in “social activities,” my sophomore year was spent attempting to pack my resume with decent looking credentials. I co-founded Phi Sigma Pi (ΖΤ), the National Honor Fraternity on campus. I worked as an assistant for an international lawyer downtown who didn’t know how to type on a computer. I interned for U.S. Senator John Cornyn in his San Antonio headquarters.
