Lauren Conboy (ΒΕ), a senior biology major and the service chair for Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity attended the event with 12 of her fellow members. Conboy is pre-med and said the medical research component of the event was one reason she got involved. The other - and more important motivation - is her seven-year-old cousin who died of cancer.

Carolyn Dunne (ΔΑ), a student at Rochester Institute of Technology, is using a grant from the Clinton Global Initiative University to enhance educational opportunities for deaf students in the African nation of Ghana.

George Edward Johnson III (ΑΤ), the son of Grace and George E. Johnson Jr., received his commission into the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. Johnson will work as an active duty Adjutant General in Germany, while studying to obtain his M.B.A. and J.D. from UCLA.

Ten student organizations received the Excellent Organization Certificate - the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, Drexel African Student Association, Delta Zeta Sorority, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (ΓΞ), Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Pragathi, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Society of Women Engineers, Violence Information and Education for Women and Women's Rugby Club.
