Phi Sigma Pi donates to Teach for America (Central Michigan Life - 4 October 09)
The third annual Easy as Pi 5k Run/Walk was held Saturday at Island Park, 331 N. Main St., by Phi Sigma Pi, a co-ed national honors fraternity. Pi Run Race Chair and Brighton senior Susan Young (ΓΜ) said the race is a great way to raise money for Teach for America and promote the fraternity.

Virginia Tech student and Blacksburg native Michael Perry (ΑΡ) was killed in a drunk driving accident 12 years ago. Perry is being honored at the 12th annual Michael B. Perry 5K Saturday, Oct. 3.

Shippensburg Area Boys and Girls Club gets new director (Cumberlink.com - 28 September 09)
“It’s not a new program, but a lot of people haven’t heard about it,” said Robin Light (Ο), the new unit director. She says because the program operates out of donated space at Memorial Lutheran Church and in the Shippensburg Area Middle School, the program has no permanent sign or office to make people aware of it.

Lauren Conboy (ΒΕ), a senior biology major and the service chair for Phi Sigma Pi Honors Fraternity attended the event with 12 of her fellow members. Conboy is pre-med and said the medical research component of the event was one reason she got involved. The other - and more important motivation - is her seven-year-old cousin who died of cancer.
