Disease fails to bring down curtain on theater major (cincinnati.com - 28 April 2010)
If people want to put Caitlin Brown (ΕΡ) in a category, make it a high-achieving one. She graduated with honors from Oak Hills High School in 2006. She's a theater major at Northern Kentucky University, where last semester she joined a co-ed honors fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi. She's also an ardent advocate for SMA causes. On Saturday, she and her family, friends and fraternity members will gather at Xavier University's Cintas Center for the seventh annual Walk-n-Roll to Cure SMA, organized by the support group Families with SMA.

UCF Teams Raise $77k to Fight Cancer (UCF Today - 27 April 2010)
UCF students, faculty and staff raised nearly $77,000 during this year’s Relay for Life to fund cancer research. More than 75 teams participated in the annual event, held April 16 on Memory Mall. Topping the list with the most funds raised were Uknighted for a Cure; Phi Sigma Pi (ΓΧ); the Center for Distributed Learning; UCF Finance and Accounting; and Strategy, Marketing, Communications and Admissions.

Relay for Life held despite storms (Crimson and White - 9 April 2010)
“The weather did not stop me from attending the event today, though I feel it did have an effect on the participation,” she said. “But I was going to be here no matter what. Relay for Life is a great way to help the cause and see people from all different groups contribute.” Lelia Huber (ΔΒ) participated with Phi Sigma Pi and sold wristbands that read, “Ain’t nothing but a winner” to raise funds.

This Sunday, April 11, honors fraternity Phi Sigma Pi will be hosting a three-on-three basketball tournament to raise money for a local domestic violence shelter. "The Neville House is a safe-haven for victims of domestic violence in the Bloomington-Normal community. They are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provide shelter to anyone who needs it, they never turn anyone away,” Teressa Little (ΔΗ), Phi Sigma Pi philanthropy chair and coordinator of the event, said.

Phi Sigma Pi holds Easter event at ECU (CBS9 wnct.com - 4 April 2010)
Members of the Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity (Τ) hosted its 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for ECU faculty, staff and their families. More than 200 children came out to ECU’s mall to try to find the 2,000 eggs, say high to the Easter bunny and get their faces painted. Kids could also participate in a variety of games.

Rent-A-Puppy supports area pet shelters (WMich.edu - 2 April 2010)
WMU students and community members can rent a cute puppy or dog for half an hour with a $5 donation and a state photo ID. The proceeds will benefit the SPCA of Southwest Michigan and WMU's Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (ΓΡ), which organizes the event. About 20 dogs of all shapes and sizes will be available to rent.
