Annual easter egg hunt held on campus (TheEastCarolinian.com - March 26, 2013)
For the Tau Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi, Easter eggs are important since they play an integral role in the Easter egg hunt the national honors fraternity hosts every year on the mall. This year, the Easter egg hunt has taken a new turn. “For the first time in 13 years, we opened the event up to not only the faculty and staff of ECU, but also the Pirate Club and Alumni Association,” said Marie Lazar (Τ), the service chair. “We are really trying to make it bigger and better each year and to be able to touch as many families as we can to put a smile on a lot of kids’ faces.”
Karen's Walk and 5K Run to benefit URMC heart failure research (HenriettaPost.com - March 13, 2013)
The annual walk is organized by the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (ΔΑ) at RIT and is held in memory of Karen Decker who died of postpartum cardiomyopathy a few weeks after giving birth to her first child. The Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity has raised more than $26,700 for the Karen Decker Research for Cardiomyopathy Fund at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Lock Haven’s very own, Phi Sigma Pi, will be hosting a grilled cheese dinner in the East Campus Gym to support Teach For America, the fraternity’s alma mater. Veteran fraternity member, Colleen Rakowski (ΒΗ) said, “Last year we had a pancake dinner similar to this that was a great success and we’re really hoping to repeat that so we can raise some money for Teach for America.”
Fraternity starts kindness week on campus (WKUHerald.com - October 30, 2012)
On Oct. 22, Phi Sigma Pi launched its first Random Acts of Kindness week. Each member of the fraternity —which is based on a tripod of ideals that includes scholarship, leadership and fellowship — will do five random acts of kindness on campus. Davenport, Iowa, senior Anna Williams (ΒΦ), one of the brothers in the co-ed fraternity, said she found the idea on Pinterest. She and the other members thought it was something they could all do because it was an activity they could each do on their own time.
UNL’s Phi Sigma Pi hosts ‘Waiting For Superman’ to promote education equality (DailyNebraskan.com - October 22, 2012)
October is “Teach For America” month, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln honors fraternity Phi Sigma Pi is helping bring awareness to the organization’s mission through a free screening of “Waiting For Superman” on Tuesday. “The ‘Waiting for Superman’ message is that the public school system in our country isn’t working like it should be,” said Angela Tejada (ΓΩ), Phi Sigma Pi’s president and campus campaign coordinator for Teach For America at UNL. “About 50 percent of students from low-income communities won’t graduate high from high school by age 18. Teach For America aims to close this achievement gap by ensuring that more children can receive an excellent education.”
