Crest of the Lineage
While the Coveney Lineage will pay hommage to the Dispenza crest of green and owl, the Coveney line over time has developed its own family crest distinct from the rest of Dispenza. The Coveney Lineage crest features a bright phoenix superimposed upon seven stars all pointed forwards toward the future. The bright phoenix represents the power of birth and self-improvement, that members of the Coveney lineage strive for in all aspects of life. Additionally the phoenix represents perseverance and change, showing that the Coveney family members never give up on their tasks, and are adaptable to new situations. The family motto, introduced by Elissa Cohen, comes from the poem Brotherhood written by American poet Edwin Markham: "The crest and crowning of all good, life's final star is Brotherhood." The beautiful scroll that the motto is written on was drawn by Betty Ascencio, who is a fantastic Civil Engineer and artist extraordinaire! The stars were designed by Kathryn Sullivan-Trainor, and the shape of the band and location of the ΦΣΠ were designed by Lauren Masatsugu.
