During his time as an undergraduate Brother, Rich was very active within the chapter. Sandwiched between semesters spent away from school on co-op experiences, he served as the chapter's Fundraising Chair. His senior year he served as the 15th President of Alpha Rho Chapter.
Alumni Years to Present
After graduating in May 2005, Rich remained at Virginia Tech to pursue a Master's in Mechanical Engineering. During graduate school he remained active with Alpha Rho as a local Alumnus and was recognized at the Chapter's 2007 Alumni Weekend as the "Most Familiar Face".
Rich completed graduate school in May 2007 and moved to Southern Maryland to work for NAVAIR. He continues to live and work there today. He still makes regular trips back to Blacksburg and is an avid Virginia Tech football fan, attending most home football games.
At the 2009 Alumni Weekend, Rich was elected to a two year term on the Alpha Rho Alumni Advisory Board. At the following year's Alumni Banquet, he was honored for his participation as an Alumnus with the Loren P. Johnson Outstanding Alumni Award. Rich also continues to be a major supporter of the Alpha Rho Chapter Endowment Fund.
