- The Purple and Gold Newsletter begins its evolution into a professional publication.
- The brochure is redesigned. A poster is created. These two marketing pieces, along with the invitation letter, would remain relatively unchanged for the next 8 years and would serve as the primary tools used to fuel expansion.
- A decal bearing the full coat of arms is created as a membership benefit.
- Life Memberships, established in 1941, are abolished. Purple and Gold Memberships are established.

- March 5 - Eta is reactivated at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania
September
- September 17 - Alpha Zeta is founded at York College of Pennsylvania
October
- October 22 - Omega is reactivated at the University of Southern Maine
November
- November 11 - Alpha Eta is founded at University of Delaware
