Early Fraternity Life and Career
During my freshman year at UF, I received a letter in the mail advertising rush for Phi Sigma Pi. Many of my friends had chosen to rush social Greek organizations, but I knew that wasn't for me. After reading the Rush letter, Phi Sig seemed to be exactly what I was looking for! I went to Rush and was immediately hooked from the amazing people I met during those events. I had a great time as an initiate during the Fall 2003 Semester as a member of the Nu class. I spent the next four years as a brother with Phi Sigma Pi, holding several committee chair positions, serving on the chapter's Executive Board and attending as many National Conventions as I could! I miss Phi Sig and my amazing brothers all the time!
Collegiate Years at Sample Chapter
During my time as a brother in Gamma Epsilon, I served as Alumni Chair (three semesters), Information-Systems Chair, Fundraising Chair and spent a year as the chapter's Corresponding Secretary. Due to the skills associated with my journalism major, I was tapped to become the Form110 expert. I am proud to say that my chapter won the Best Initiation Program after I urged the Initiate Advisor's to apply during the Form110 process!
Alumni Years to Present
Since graduation, I have moved from Gainesville, FL to Denver, CO to earn my Master's degree in Museum Studies/Anthropology from the University of Denver. I am in my second year and plan to graduate in August 2010. I have also gotten engaged and will be getting married back in Florida in October 2010!
National Involvement
I attended four National Conventions during my time as a brother: Memphis, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New Orleans! I had a blast at all of them, but none so memorable as Atlanta! It was a blast!
Bigs and Littles
Big: Brian Perdomo, alumni
Little 1: Danny Payne, resigned
Little 2: Isabel Vazquez-Milan, resigned
Little 3: Liz Zatz, current brother of Gamma Epsilon
I was awarded Best Big in Spring 2004 based on my Big/Little pairing with Danny. Despite this, I had bad luck with my first couple of Littles based on outside influences. However, this all changed when I met Liz! We were destined to be Big and Little, and she has helped our family grow into a thriving bunch of wonderful brothers! We bonded over a love for dance, and I am extremely grateful that I was able to respark my involvement in dance because of my Little!
