Early Fraternity Life and Career

Alyssa was first attracted to Eastern because of its beautiful campus, but their Occupational Science department were also one of two in the state of Kentucky. Eastern Kentucky University's friendly and inviting atmosphere was the ultimate reason she chose the school. She first heard of Phi Sigma Pi in an email inviting her to Rush. She was intrigued by the Tripod with it's emphasis on scholarship, fellowship and leadership and wanted to find out more about them. It turned out that their strong emphasis on both academics and fellowship (much like Eastern's college campus) was the perfect atmosphere for her.

Besides Phi Sigma Pi, Alyssa has been a member of the EKU Honor's Program for three years and the Psychology Professional Fraternity Psi Chi.

Collegiate Years at Sample Chapter

Alyssa is currently serving as the Chapter Historian, since Spring 2010.

Before she was Chapter Historian, Alyssa served as Recruitment Chair. In this position, she and her committee planned numerous events: including the last rush with a superhero theme that included an obstacle course and recycled event to name a few.

As a member of the service committee she also planned a Halloween Carnival for the children of non-traditional students. This semester she is planning a scholarship event to learn the member's personality type for career information.

National Involvement

Alyssa Elder has attended Mardi Gras twice.

Bigs and Littles

Leslie Allegier is Alyssa's Big. She has two littles Amber Murphy and Corey Fannin.
