Ashley Bender (born 17 June 1988) is an Alumni of Alpha Chapter (Α 2214) at the University of Central Missouri.

Early Fraternity Life and Career
Ashley Bender decided to enroll at the University of Central Missouri (CMSU when she enrolled in 2006) because the school provided one of the best teacher education programs in Missouri. Despite UCM being the last college/university she applied to, it was a worth-while decision: Ashley completed her studies and received a BSE in secondary social studies education in December 2010. Ashley is currently a substitute teacher for her alma mater school district Blue Springs R-IV, and works a part-time job to make ends meet. She is enrolled at UCM for graduate studies in curriculum/instruction, and is expected to graduate in spring 2015.
She received a letter to rush for Phi Sigma Pi her second semester of her freshman year, but decided to rush as part of the Omicron class in fall 2007.
Collegiate Years at Alpha Chapter
Ashley held the position of Service Committee Chair spring semester 2008. The most rewarding event that she helped organize and was a part of, as the Service Committee Chair, was a Children's Vision Summit, held in Columbia (MO) in 2008. The event was orchestrated to help children with visual impairments understand better what it meant to be visually impaired and provided resources to help those children become better assimilated into society. She was also nominated for the positions of Historian, Parliamentarian, and Female Brother at Large, but was unsuccessful in receiving enough votes to pursue the above offices.
Ashley attended Beta Bash in fall 2008, which was probably one of the best experiences that she had while an active member of PSP. 3 days of hanging out with Brothers from other mothers and chapters...what more can you ask for?

Things You May Not Know
- I have 1 older brother, 1 younger half-sister, and 8 step-siblings.
- I'm the second person in my family to achieve a college degree- the last person to graduate was my aunt in 1979.
- I am bi-racial.
- Every occupation/major I considered when applying for college dealt with helping people in some shape or form (i.e. education, architect, interior decorator).
- My biggest fear is death.
- I like all kinds of music- it depends on my mood as to what people hear me listening to.
