This award is named for a Beta Sigma Chapter Charter Member, Colin Dolehanty, a man who unselfishly dedicated his life to the advancement of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and the opportunities it affords the men and women of Michigan State University. He was also a man that demonstrated the ideals of the Fraternity: scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.  After his untimely death, Colin's parents decided to give back the the organization for which he loved and cared.  Each year at the Beta Sigma Founder's Day Banquet, the Dolehantys award this scholarship to the Chapter Brother who best exhibits the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
