Early Fraternity Life and Career
Christine is a Senior at the University of Michigan studying Molecular and Cellular Developmental Biology and Biomedical Engineering. Christine Belzyt joined Phi Sigma Pi the first semester of her Junior year at the University of Michigan. She was elected as the secretary of her Initiate Class Alpha Eta.
Collegiate Years at Beta Alpha Chapter
Christine is currently the Internal Secretary for the Beta Alpha Chapter during the 2009-2010 school year. Before taking an officer position, in winter 2009 she was a member of the Scholarship Committee and helped in the planning of the book club. In fall 2009 she was a member of the Fellowship committee and helped plan the Halloween Murder Mystery Party as well as Beta Alpha's Semi-formal at the end of the semester. Currently as Secretary, Christine has helped reorganize the Chapter's internal records and data base. She has also helped redefine the attendance policies and records.
Alumni Years to Present
Christine will be attending the University of Michigan in fall 2010 after graduating this May, to pursue a Masters in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Biotechnology.

Other Interesting Facts
Christine works in a Cell and Developmental Biology laboratory at the University of Michigan Medical School. The lab focuses on Very early development of the mammalian nervous system in embryonic stem cells. Christine has worked there since September 2006, and is currently working on a project investigating the role of geminin in Neuroblastoma cells. Christine has also worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow. While in Minnesota she worked in a Cardiology Research Laboratory under the direction of with Dr. Rodriguez-Porcel, investigating cell transplant therapy using molecular imaging methods.
Christine is also an active member of the Biomedical Engineering Society at the University of Michigan. Christine is certified by the Red Cross as a Lifeguard and a Water Safety Instructor, and has spent many years teaching swim lessons to students of all ages. Christine knows how to drive an automatic transmission automobile.
