This page describes innovative ways Chapters are combining events to incorporate more than one leg of the tripod.

Fellowship/Scholarship

NYMAAC - Page and Popcorn

The New York Metropolitan Area Alumni Chapter (NYMAAC) has a regular movie and book night where interested members read a pre-selected book and then watch the film version and host a discussion group on the two. Recently they featured the Manchurian Candidate, viewing both the 1962 and 2004 versions of the film.

Pot-luck Dinner

Organize a pot-luck dinner (fellowship) and ask Brothers to share their favorite ethnic recipes (scholarship).

Leadership/Scholarship

Ask someone from your community group you are doing volunteer work with to come in and talk to the chapter about the cause. For instance invite a local health clinic volunteer to come visit a Chapter meeting and discuss AIDS. Not only will it energize the Brothers to continue participating in your possible AIDS related service projects (leadership) it will also teach them about a very serious virus that affects us all (scholarship).

Delta Alpha Chapter - Karen's Walk

Karen's Walk1 is a 5K Run/Walk that sponsors heart failure research in memory of Karen Decker. Delta Alpha established the Karen Decker Cardiomyopathy Fund at the University of Rochester Medical Center after a friend of the fraternity passed away from postpartum cardiomyopathy, a form of heart failure. The chapter brings in guest speakers from the medical community at University of Rochester as part of a lecture event to better inform the public about cardiomyopathy and the research being done to find a cure.
