Corina Gomez (born the 29th of November, 1990) is an Collegiate Member Member of the Delta Kappa Chapter at the University of North Texas.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Corina rushed for the Delta Kappa Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi in Fall of 2012. She was a bright young scholar, starry eyed and full of expectation. Rush was an intense experience full of deadlines, meetings, and extra stuff to shove in her bulging brain. But, alas, Corina passed her National Exam, met the requirements, and was voted in to the fraternity! Joyous celebration was to follow [mainly at Alex Davis' house, see profile] and it was all worth it.

Collegiate Years in the Delta Kappa

Twas in the Spring of 2013 that Corina was appointed Service Committee Chair by then Vice President, Kim Anderson [as well as a 2/3 vote from Executive Board]. Corina had been involved in philanthropic exploits since her freshman year of college when she and her friends gathered food to hand out to the homeless in downtown Houston, TX. The stars aligned and Corina was granted a wonderful committee of dedicated, creative, organized, humorous [they watched Harlem Shake videos sometimes] individuals. Together, they put on like five events that semester!

Studies

Corina is double-majoring at UNT in philosophy and sociology, building a strong foundation for further studies after graduating in Spring 2014. She is a senior but loves being a student so much that she decided to stay at UNT for another year. Corina is in the Honors College at UNT and has participated in Scholars Day twice. The first time presenting a poster about the Trinity watershed and its use by the DFW metroplex and the second time giving a lecture about her paper on the gentrification of Oak Cliff in Dallas due to the urban renewal surrounding the Trinity River. Her unofficial mentor is Dr. Irene Klaver, a philosophy professor and water rights activist. Corina plans to go on to graduate school and study Environmental Policy.
