National honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi spreads awareness of epilepsy (lehighvalleylive.com - November 25, 2013)
Lehigh’s national co-ed honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi (PSP) held an event Monday in honor of National Epilepsy Awareness Month. The event consisted of two speakers, as well as handing out purple tissue paper flowers and educational bookmarks in the University Center to students, all in the hopes of raising awareness about epilepsy. “I think this event could help the Lehigh community because it will inform students about what epilepsy is and how to react when someone is having a seizure,” said Catherine O’Grady (ΔΧ), ’15, the PSP leadership chair. “We are not raising money for this event, but rather, we are raising awareness.”
Cambridge University next for Grand Valley undergrad (GVSU.edu - November, 2013)
Katrina Maynes (ΕΨ) is understandably excited to be accepted into a graduate program at Cambridge University, a first for Grand Valley, but said there is “nothing special” about her. At Grand Valley, her outstanding performance continued and has been recognized with a Frederik Meijer First Generation Honors College Scholarship, a Niemeyer History Scholarship, a Grand Valley Faculty Scholarship, a Grand Valley Award for Excellence, a Grand Finish Grant and an ‘I Am Grand Valley’ Award.

In years past, blood drives at Grand Valley State University were coordinated by the Community Service Learning Center, but this year student organizations are leading the charge to save lives one pint at a time. The fraternity Phi Sigma Pi will be hosting the first Michigan Blood Drive of 2013, and Greg Harmon (ΕΨ), a spokesman of the fraternity, is optimistic about his organization’s ability to promote and host the drive.

Rather, I’m a brother of Phi Sigma Pi National Co-Ed Honor Fraternity, Zeta Beta chapter (ΖΒ) at Franklin & Marshall College (all members are called brothers, regardless of gender). I joined the fraternity the first semester of my sophomore year of college, and I love it more each day.
UVA Fraternity Raises Money for Children's Hospital Heart Fund (NBC29.com - April 20, 2013)
On April 13th six great students from Phi Sigma Pi (ΔΙ) arrived promptly at noon to help out with the Spaghetti Dinner preparation. This dinner was being sponsored by the United Military Women of the Southwest. After donning aprons and gloves they were ready to work.

Almost 300 people got active Saturday morning to give back to the University of Virginia Children's Hospital. UVA's Phi Sigma Pi (ΑΟ) co-ed fraternity held a Zumba warm-up and 5K to benefit the hospital's Heart Family Fund. The fund would make it easier for families with children in the hospital to get the treatment they need.
Karen's Walk raises money for heart failure research (WHEC.com - April 16, 2013)
“Our members are all really excited and passionate about it. I think it's a cause that hits close to home because it is one of our brother's friends that suffered from cardiomyopathy. Every year people get more and more excited and it gets bigger and bigger. Overall, it's just an event we really care about,” said RIT student Emily Bartha (ΔΑ).
Annual easter egg hunt held on campus (TheEastCarolinian.com - March 26, 2013)
For the Tau Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi, Easter eggs are important since they play an integral role in the Easter egg hunt the national honors fraternity hosts every year on the mall. This year, the Easter egg hunt has taken a new turn. “For the first time in 13 years, we opened the event up to not only the faculty and staff of ECU, but also the Pirate Club and Alumni Association,” said Marie Lazar (Τ), the service chair. “We are really trying to make it bigger and better each year and to be able to touch as many families as we can to put a smile on a lot of kids’ faces.”

The annual walk is organized by the Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity (ΔΑ) at RIT and is held in memory of Karen Decker who died of postpartum cardiomyopathy a few weeks after giving birth to her first child. The Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity has raised more than $26,700 for the Karen Decker Research for Cardiomyopathy Fund at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
A ‘cheesy’ Phi Sigma Pi fundraiser (The Eagle Eye - February 14, 2013)
Lock Haven’s very own, Phi Sigma Pi, will be hosting a grilled cheese dinner in the East Campus Gym to support Teach For America, the fraternity’s alma mater. Veteran fraternity member, Colleen Rakowski (ΒΗ) said, “Last year we had a pancake dinner similar to this that was a great success and we’re really hoping to repeat that so we can raise some money for Teach for America.”
