Leadership in Action is a leadership training and certification program tailored to Brothers of Phi Sigma Pi. Its mission is to empower Brothers with the leadership skills they need to inspire a positive change in all facets of our fraternity and our communities. The program was created and is maintained by National Staff, was approved by the National Council at their Fall 2009 meeting, and is supported by the Phi Sigma Pi Foundation.

Overview

Leadership in Action consists of interactive modules at various levels (nationally, regionally, and locally). A module is a flexible course structure which allows for a variety of teaching methods and accommodates a variety of learning styles. Rather than a traditional lecture-style class, modules incorporate discussion, activities, cohort groups, and other interactive learning experiences. Participants need 75 points to complete the certification program.

Modules

The following modules have been adapted for use on the national level, and will be unveiled at the 2010 National Convention:

  • The Great Balancing Act: Achieving Life Balance
  • Conflict Management

Modules are divided into five key categories, and participants are encouraged to choose modules from a variety of areas to attain a diverse base of training.

  • Commitment to uphold our ideals
  • Scholarship
  • Awareness
  • Leadership Through Service
  • Fellowship
